Eswarah wins Birthday Cup

KARACHI, Nov 25: Making her appearance after a long layoff, four-year-old Eswarah claimed the Double Birthday Cup at the Karachi Racecourse on Sunday.

Ridden by Arshad, she defeated favourite Dream Rose by half a length. Joint favourite Captain Black finished third.

In three more upsets, Sweetie Pie lowered the colours of The Ghazan Prince, Star Is Born outpaced Flawless Victory while Dragon Heart toppled Sugar Sweet.

Five favourites obliged the punters in a card of nine races.

Jockey M. Nasir ended with a brace when he piloted colts Crown Prince and Cash Flow home.

In other races, Back In Action, Desperado and Hamza Joy returned victories.
