Maria crowned champion

HYDERABAD, Nov 25: Wapda’s Maria Toor won the Hyderabad Women’s Open squash championship, defeating Army’s Zoya Khalid in straight sets at the Gymkhana on Sunday.

Maria took 20 minutes to overcome her opponent 9-3, 9-3, 9-0.

She received a cash prize of Rs15,000 and the winning trophy while Zoya pocketed Rs7,500 and runner-up trophy.

The Sindh sports minister announced a prize of Rs25,000 for the winner and Rs15,000 for the runner-up.

The championship was organised by the Hyderabad District Squash Association.
