Queen’s photo removed from LRC

LAHORE, Nov 25: A photograph of Queen Elizabeth II has been removed from its place of honour in the Lahore Race Club’s (LRC) steward’s room.

The photograph, which shows the queen giving away prizes to the winner of the Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup in 1961 during her royal visit to the LRC at its Gulberg Road Complex, was taken down following the suspension of Pakistan’s membership from the Commonwealth after Gen. Musharraf’s failure of lifting emergency rule and resigning as the chief of army staff.
