Aitzaz files nomination papers

LAHORE, Nov 25: Supreme Court Bar Association President Aitzaz Ahsan, a Pakistan People’s Party leader, and four others filed their nomination papers here on Sunday.

Mr Ahsan, whose residence at Zaman Park had been declared a sub-jail after shifting him from Adiala Jail, Rawalpindi, was brought to the sessions court under police custody for filing his nomination papers for NA-124. A large number of lawyers expressed solidarity with him and chanted slogans against the government.

PPP leaders Naveed and Qasim Zia filed their papers for NA-125 and PP-155, respectively. PPP’s Nahid Khan filed papers against a reserved seat for women while Asif Jehangir furnished his candidature for PP-156. — Staff Reporter
