MATLI, Nov 25: The Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (Hesco) has declared five taluka councils of Badin district as defaulters for not paying outstanding dues of over Rs74 million.

The company has also served notices on the taluka councils and asked them to immediately pay the power bills.

The taluka council of Matli owes Rs23.125 million, Talhar Rs15.985 million, Badin Rs12.198 million, Tando Bagho Rs9.363 million and Golarchi Rs6.836 million.

It is learnt that two towns of the district, Khoski and Tando Ghulam Ali, had not paid electricity bills of Rs1.280 million and Rs5.672 million, respectively.

When contacted, UC-2 Nazim Matli Sharif Papu Rajput said that taluka council of Matli was paying a monthly instalment of Rs1.7million.
