KARACHI, Nov 24: A robber was killed and one of his two accomplices injured in a shootout with a police patrol in Shah Faisal Colony on Saturday.

Police said that the three bandits, riding a bike, were signaled by constables Ameer Abdullah Niazi and Gulzar Ahmed to stop near the main market of Shah Faisal Colony No. 1.

However, they tried to speed away. The constables chased them upon which the suspects opened fire. The constable returned the fire and one of the robbers, identified later as Adnan, a resident of Gulistan-i-Jauhar, was killed and another one, Amjad, a resident of Bhitai Colony, was injured. Constable Niazi was also injured in the exchange of fire. The third robber, however, ran away.
