MIRPURKHAS, Nov 19: Fourteen workers of Awami Tehrik on Monday courted arrest in Mirpurkhas, Hyderabad and Larkana during the Tehrik’s Jail Bharo Movement in protest against imposition of emegerncy.

Abbas Ali Chandio, Mohammad Hanif Chandio, Abdul Majeed Chandio, Abu Bakar Nohri and Moula Bux Nodani courted arrest when they staged a demonstration on the M.A.Jinnah road and raised slogans against the government. Town police arrested and registered cases against them under section 144 CrPC.

In Hyderabad police arrested Gul Dhamach, Qasim Dhamach, Imtiaz Mari and Bachal Odh for violating section 144 Cr.PC as they came out of civil courts premises after staging a protest demonstration there against imposition of emergency.

In Larkana, police arrested four activists of Awami Tehrik when they appeared at the gate of Jinnahbagh carrying placards, flags and chanting slogans against emergency.

They were demanding reinstatement of judges of higher courts, restoration of the constitution and release of all the arrested political workers. Police picked up Fazul Abro, Irfan, Manan Chandio and Roshan Chandio and whisked them away to Market police station.
