MIRPURKHAS, Nov 19: Dozens of affectees of Kahu Jo Daro -- a historical place -- who were shifted to an alternative less on Tando Adam road have accused the district government officials, a landlord and others of forcing them to vacate the land.

The affectees including Moti Bheel, Ismail Bijjo Bheel, Qaisro Bheel, Alam, Kirshan, Kanji, Ramji, Ms Muqeema and others told journalists here on Monday, that district administration had rehabilitated them on a four-acre government land, which was surrounded by the lands of Chaudhry Akhtar and others.

They accused Chaudhry and his henchmen of releasing water in the land and forcing them to vacate the land. They accused that Chaudhry Akhtar and his armed henchmen were hurling threats of dire consequences to them if they did not vacate the land.

They said that a total of 130 houses were shifted there from Kahu Jo Daro with the assistance of the district administration of Mirpurkhas.

They said that they were living under open sky and constructing their huts. They also complained that they were deprived of drinking water and passage to go to main Tando Adam road.

When contacted, Chaudhry Akhtar said that this piece of four-acre of land belonged to evacuee property and it was leased out to one Sadiq Ali.

He said that the district government shifted the affectees on this land in haste. He added that now the district government was finding an alternate land for them.

FERTILISER: The EDO Agriculture Mirpurkhas, Ghulamullah Jarwar, has directed the fertiliser dealers to display price list of the crop input at their shops.

According to a handout issued here on Monday, he directed the district officers and deputy district officers of agriculture to carry out raids at the fertiliser dealers shops and take legal action against those dealers selling fertilisers in black or excess rate. He advised the growers to point out dealers involved in black marketing and hoarding so that legal action could be taken against them.
