37 deportees arrested

GUJRANWALA, Nov 17: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested 37 more people from Islamabad airport and brought them to Gujranwala on Saturday after they were deported from Turkey.

FIA additional director Hussain Asgher said that human agents had sent the arrested people abroad after receiving heavy amount from them.

He said the border security personnel in Turkey had arrested all of them and detained them in jail. He said the arrested deportees were being quizzed and human agents would soon be arrested.

Meanwhile, a raiding party of the FIA, led by inspector Rao Nasserullah, arrested a top ten human agent, Raja Ghaffar, in Jalalpur Jattan after a brief encounter on Saturday.

FIA assistant director Syed Arif Bukhari said a local court had acquitted the accused on the assurance that he would never indulge in this illegal business again. But he sent scores of youths to Greece en route Turkey from where they were arrested.
