Pakistan win golf event

LAHORE, Nov 14: Pakistan defeated Sri Lanka in the team event of 120th Sri Lankan Amateur golf championship at the Royal Colombo Club Course, according to a message received here on Wednesday.

The Pakistan team comprised Tariq Mehmood and M. Safdar. They gained a substantial five-stroke lead with two-day aggregate score of 277 against Sri Lanka’s 282 which grabbed second position.

The other participating countries are Bangladesh, Philippines and India.

Tariq carded rounds of 70 each on first and second days while Safdar’s scores were 69 and 68.
