GST on drugs resented

VEHARI, March 26: Local social and welfare organizations have expressed their concern over the imposition of 15 per cent general sales tax on medicines, including life saving drug.

Terming it elimination of the poor, they demanded immediate withdrawal of the GST.

The Pakistan Chemists and Druggists Association said here on Tuesday that increase in the prices of medicines was unnecessary, and would prove deadly for the poor people.

THEFT: A photostat machine, ceiling fans and other office items were stolen by unidentified men from 12 chambers of lawyers on Monday night.

Police are investigating.

Meanwhile, the District Bar Association urged police high-ups to trace the thieves immediately.
