Man poisons wife to have another

SIALKOT, Nov 11: A man allegedly poisoned his wife on Sunday in frustration over being issueless even three years after marriage.

Reports said Iftikhar Husain, a resident of border-area Sidha village, wanted to contract second marriage as he had no child from first wife Shakeela Bibi. He asked Shakeela time and again to allow him to contract second marriage and, on her resistance, poisoned her in complicity with other members of his family.

Police have registered a case and sent the body for autopsy. — Correspondent
