Literary sitting

LARKANA, Nov 11: The Indus Cultural and Literary Organisation held a sitting in memory of famous poet Nawaz Ali Niaz Jaffery on his 48th birth anniversary here on Sunday.

Dr Dur Mohammad Pathan presided over the meeting Professor Mukhtiar Samo and Javad Jafery were the chief guests.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Dur Mohammad Pathan appreciated the contributions of the tri-lingual poet and stressed the need for establishing an ‘archives’ to preserve the history and literature of Sindh and work of great poets.

He said Jaffery devoted his entire life to literature.

He not only composed poetry in Sindhi but also wrote in Urdu and Persian and was a poet of the common man.
