DERA ISMAIL KHAN, March 26: Two people were injured when talks over a marriage proposal turned nasty here on Monday.

Sources said Fazal Mohammad held initial talks for the marriage of his son Sharif with the daughter of Gula Jan in Banazir Colony Dera.

Both the sides agreed on an amount of Rs200,000 for the marriage. However, when both the parties met on Monday to finalize the date, the bride side raised their demand to double the original commitment.

The issue turned into a conflict and Gula Jan along with Marjan and Khudai Dad attacked Sharif and his father with daggers. Sharif was rescued by the neighbours and was shifted to the DHQ Teaching Hospital D.I.Khan.

The Saddar police have registered a case under section 324 PPC. No arrest has been made so far.
