Published March 27, 2002

PESHAWAR, March 26: The capital city police have not found any clue about the kidnapping of Dr Inayat Roghani, brother of NWFP Health Minister Mehr Taj Roghani, who was reportedly kidnapped in Hayatabad area on March 20, when he was on his way to home from the Hayatabad Medical Complex, sources said.

Khyber Teaching Hospital Associate Prof Dr Roghani, who is in-charge of  the radiology section, was kidnapped, reportedly for ransom, when he was on his way to his home after finishing his private practice at the KTH last Wednesday.

Sources said the family was unaware of his kidnapping till Thursday, as  it was in Mardan. They received a telephone call of Dr Roghani informing them about his kidnapping.

He stressed that his family should cooperate with his kidnappers and fulfil their demands.

The family of the doctor did not register an FIR due to fear of harm to the doctor by the kidnappers.

They tried to deal with the kidnappers, the sources said.

When Dawn tried to contact the health minister on telephone,  her family refused to talk on the issue.
