PESHAWAR, Nov 10: The election and scrutiny committee of the Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry has rejected nomination papers of five candidates for four seats of the chamber’s executive committee.

The committee at a meeting held here on Saturday reviewed nomination papers of 27 candidates hailing from two main groups, the Businessman Panel and the Progressive Businessman Forum.

The candidates whose papers were cleared are: Khalid S. Khwaja, Malak N. Mohammad, Dr Saeed, Ghulam Dastgeer, Dr Umer Zakori, Qaiser Aziz, Niaz A. Naz, Mamoor Khan, Shah A. Shinwari, Riaz Arshad, Sahibzada A. Salam, Ishfaq Ahmad, Shahid Iqbal and Numan Wazir of the Businessman Panel and Naeem Shahzad, Ehsan Rashid Gorwara, Maqsood Anwar Pervaz, Malak Iftikhar Awan, Abid Salam, Hasnain Khurshid, Mohammad Ishaq and Mohammad Mohsin Wadood of the Progressive Businessman Forum. The papers can be withdrawn by Nov 22 after which the final list of candidates will be issued.
