Hunt meets Baloch

Published November 10, 2007

LAHORE, Nov 9: US Consulate Principal Officer Bryan D Hunt met on Friday Jamaat-i-Islami naib amir Liaquat Baloch and discussed situation prevailing in the country. Mr Baloch said Gen Pervez Musharraf had unleashed state terrorism on the media and the judiciary and suspended the constitution. It was the most appropriate time that West must reconsider its support to him.

The war on terror had discredited both Gen Musharraf and the US, and it was time to review priorities, he said.

Mr Hunt said the US was keeping an eye on developments in Pakistan and would ensure people’s participation in national affairs.
