LAHORE, Nov 4: Justice Khwaja Sharif who is among 14 Lahore High Court judges who have not taken oath under the PCO has urged the civil society to launch a peaceful protest against the emergency imposition.

“We (the judges who have rejected the PCO) have lit the candle,” Justice Sahrif told BBC.Com.

According to him, the entire judiciary was bound to follow the seven-member Supreme Court bench’s verdict against the PCO.

Justice Sharif said practically it was martial law and not emergency. To support his argument, he said the emergency had been proclaimed by none else than the army chief.
