KHAIRPUR, Nov 2: A minor girl’s grandfather lodged an FIR against her marriage here on Thursday.

Khan Mohammad Katohar, resident of Dhani Bux Katohar, grandfather of Najma, 8, pleaded in the FIR registered at B-Section police that his daughter Pushpa was married in Jhatpat, Balochistan, to Ghulam Sarwar Golo and she had three children, namely Mohammad Afzal, Shaman Ali and Najma.

Sometime back, Ghulam Sarwar divorced his daughter over some domestic issue.

He said a year ago Ghulam Sarwar came to his house and sought permission to take their three children to Jhatpat for outing after agreeing to return them back.

However, Ghulam Sarwar did not return the children.

The old man said he along with Pushpa went to Jhatpat where they were told by Ghulam Sarwar that he had given Najma in marriage to Altaf Hussain Gabol for some money.

They told him that Najma was a minor and could not be married.

Later, the complainant and Pushpa went to Altaf Hussain’s house and took Najma for outing and later brought her to his village in district Khairpur.

He added that on Oct 30, Ghulam Sarwar with some men, namely Bahadur, Illahi Bux, Shahnawaz, Sikandar, all resident of Jhatpat, forcibly entered their house and tried to forcibly take her with them.
