Delhi may revive cricket ties

Published March 24, 2002

NEW DELHI, March 23: After refusing to play against Pakistan for two years over political issues, India may revive cricketing relations with the country.

Sources say Indian Olympic Association chief Suresh Kalmadi has been authorized to hold talks on the issue during his upcoming visit to Islamabad.

Kalmadi will visit Islamabad to finalize the organization of South Asian Federation Games.

If everything goes well, cricket relations between the two countries can resume within two months, the sources said.—APP
