MIRPURKHAS, Nov 1: District Administration Mirpurkhas launched an operation to remove encroachments from the premises of Kahu Jo Daro on Thursday.

The Revenue Department had earlier issued notices to encroachers to vacate the historical place by October 31, or face demolition.

A police contingent headed by the SPO Qamar Shaikh, the DDO Revenue Mirpurkhas Jawad Akram, and District Officer Revenue Mustafa Jamal Qazi surrounded the area of Kahu Jo Daro. Encroachers on seeing police began vacating the place and demolishing their houses.

However, administration provided them transportation facility including tractor trolleys. The affected people said that they were residing there since 50 years and had no other place to construct huts and houses.
