Poppy grown in Waziristan area

WANA, March 23: Shamankhel tribesmen of South Waziristan Agency have cultivated poppy over a sizable area in Tangi Badinzai in Ladha subdivision to protest against the lack of civic amenities in their area.

According to sources, the tribesmen have grown poppy to press the government to pay heed to their plight and provide amenities like health and educational institutions and construction of roads.
