MIANWALI, Oct 31: The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees has handed over 20 beds with equipment for the newly-constructed cardiology ward of the District Headquarters Hospital.
At a ceremony organised here, Afghan Refugee Camp administrator Syed Osat Ali Shah said the UNHCR had generously provided equipment and medicines to the DHQ hospital and the Kalabagh THQ Hospital.
The district coordination officer acknowledged the aid of the UNHCR and said the non-government organisations and trader associations also had been lending a helping hand to the distressed by providing donations to hospitals and educational institutes in the developing countries.
It was high time, he said, the philanthropists came forward and mitigate the woes of the needy. He also called upon the doctors to treat the patients with missionary zeal, instructing the hospital administration to take steps to eliminate pollution on the premises.
