SIALKOT, March 23: A girl was set to fire on Saturday by an influential man after rape in Ghulshan Colony, Daska city.

The 18-year-old girl, the daughter of a labourer, was alone when accused Ehsan alias Sana forced his entry into her house. He reportedly raped her at gunpoint. He sprinkled kerosene on the girl when she raised an alarm and set her afire.

Her neighbours took her to the Daska Civil Hospital from where she was referred to the Mayo hospital in Lahore.

Meanwhile, residents of the locality protested against the incident and demanded immediate arrest of the accused.
