HYDERABAD, March 23: The Sindh High Court, Hyderabad circuit bench, has issued notices to Shahid Hanif, DPO, Sanghar, Gul Mohammad Phul, SDPO, Hassan Mallah, SHO, Tando Adam police, and ASI Mohammad Ishaq Sangrasi to appear in the court on April 8 on a contempt of court application.

The application was filed by Abdul Shakoor, the attorney of Ms Fatima and others.

He claimed that Justice Mohammad Mujeebullah Siddiqui had passed an order in revision application no 57 of 1987 on Feb 7, directing that the possession of a piece of agriculture land by Ms Fatima Ali and others shall not be disturbed till the disposal of the suit.

He said that despite that, their opponents were interfering in the possession of the land.

He said that whenever their peasants went to the land for cultivation, the alleged contemners interfered and threatened to implicate them in false cases. The haris were restrained from doing any work on the land with the result that they were unable to cultivate the land.

The applicant charged that Nazim UC-4, taluka Tando Adam, Malik Zulfikar Ali, wanted to take forcible possession of the land and since he was unable to do it on his own he was using the contemners for this purpose.

He said that the SHO had set up picket on the land to dispossess applicants.

He said that contemners were acting illegally as dispute between the applicants and Piyaro Khan and others was pending in civil and high courts.

He said that the illegal activities of contemners amounted to interference in subjudice civil matter.

On March 3, the applicant claimed, he had given a notice in writing to the contemners, apprising them about the high court’s order but they continued interference.
