KARACHI Oct 30: Three ships to load and offload containers and rice were accommodated berths during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Tuesday.

Meanwhile another container ship also arrived at the outer anchorage. Eight ships, Brianna, Maersk Davao, Multan, Skipper Ali, Tianjin Pioneer, Westama, Tera, Jagur-V and Leonardo Laembo, were currently busy in loading and unloading containers, rice, seeds, edible oil, furnace oil and coke.

A cargo volume of 69,322 tons comprising 49,142 tons of import and 20,180 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Tianjin Pioneer and Leonardo Laembo left the port while Maersk David, Brainna and Westama were expected to depart on Tuesday.

Four ships CV Nedlloyd Africa, MV Saranya Naree, MT Chem Lily and MV Maha Rose are expected to take berths at QICT, M-Wharf and IOCB respectively on same day.

Two ships MT Arietis and MT Palannimalai with Furnace oil and Edible oil are due to arrive at PQ on Tuesday, 30th October while two more ships MT Liquid Success and CV ACX Tsubaki with Chemicals and Containers are due to arrive on Wednesday, 31st October 2007.
