Inter-school throwball begins today

KARACHI, Oct 29: The Aga Khan University (AKU) Sports & Rehabilitation Centre is organizing its 4th All-Karachi Inter-School Throwball for girls under-17 from Tuesday (today).

Thirteen teams representing various educational institutions in Karachi are taking part in the tournament. The teams have been divided into 4 pools. Pool ‘A’ comprises Convent of Jesus & Mary School (Sr. Girls Team), Bayview High School, CAS School and Meritorious School while Pool ‘B’ comprises Muhammadi Girls Secondary School, Aga Khan Higher Secondary School, Foundation Public School.

Pool ‘C’ comprises Convent Jesus & Mary School (Jr. Girls Team), Lahore Grammar School and SMS Aga Khan School and Pool ‘D’ comprises the City School Sr. Girls (Gulshan Campus), Frobel’s Education Centre and Habib Girls School.

The round matches would be played on league basis. The tournament will progress through quarter-finals, semi-finals and final. All the matches would be played at the AKU Sports Centre Gymnasium.

The inauguration of the tournament is being held on Tuesday at 2:30pm at the AKU Sports Centre Gymnasium. The opening match will be played between Convent of Jesus and Mary team(Sr. Girls Team) vs. BAYVIEW HIGH SCHOOL. Ms. Mehrin Ansari, Sr. Manager Faculty Recruitment and International Human Resources, Aga Khan University has consented to inaugurate the tournament.—Agencies
