PESHAWAR, Oct 29: The government has asked officials in the NWFP and Fata to take appropriate security measures for ensuring successful conduct of the three-day polio vaccination campaign, starting here from Oct 30.

NWFP Chief Secretary Sahibzada Riaz Noor issued the instructions to this effect in a letter to all district coordination officers in NWFP and political agents in Fata, and urged them to cooperate fully with the vaccination teams.

The chief secretary regretted that even though the country was close to eradicating the disease, there were still some areas where children below the age of five remained without immunisation due to various reasons.

KHAR: Arrangements for vaccinating over 200,000 children against polio in Bajaur have been completed.

LAKKI MARWAT: Tehsil Naib Nazim Lakki Shaukat Hayat Khan Begukhel started a three-day polio drive here on Monday and administered vaccines to children at a city hospital.
