SWABI, Oct 29: A rivalry between district Nazim Shahram Khan and ex-education minister Maulana Fazal Ali is delaying the appointment of 75 grade-IV employees to the education department, it is learnt.

The nazim said interviews for the posts would be held again and those already declared successful would not be issued appointment letters.

Sources said that Maulana Ali had conveyed his displeasure to the nazim.

“The former chief minister and the finance department had recommended the appoint-ments, but the orders were delayed for unknown reasons,” the maulana told Dawn on Monday.

“The district government approached the authorities concerned to stop issuing the appointment orders after irregularities were detected in the selection process as many deserving candidates were ignored,” Mr Khan said.
