Councillor waylaid

JACOBABAD, Oct 27: Robbers looted 50 tolas gold jewellery and Rs500,000 cash from Councillor, Sham Lal’s house in the jurisdiction of City Police Station on Saturday.

According to details, four robbers were roaming in Bhittai Bazaar, Jacobabad during the daytime all when shops were open.

They after whipping out pistols entered the house of Councillor Sham Lal, held the family hostage on gunpoint and looted gold and cash.

After accomplishing the task, robbers tried to escape on foot but saw a mobile van of the City Police Station coming from the opposite direction.

They opened fire, retreated towards the bazaar and managed to escape towards Chanchri Street while firing on police.

No FIR was lodged till the filing of the report.
