Ex-DIG appears in court

MIRPURKHAS, Oct 25: Former DIG Mirpurkhas Rana Saleemullah Khan appeared before the Additional and Sessions Court Judge Mirpurkhas-II, Ahmed Luqman Memon in the Town Police Station case, on Thursday.

An application of Rana Saleemullah to quash case under section 265-K CrPC was heard.

Rana Saleemullah Khan himself argued the application due to the absence of his counsel. Deputy district public prosecutor, Zulfiqar Leghari argued on behalf of state. The court fixed November 5 for judgment. Former inspector Shahid Bajwa had been declared as proclaimed offender by the court due to non -appearance.

Later, talking to journalists Saleemullah said the Sindh High Court, Hyderabad would hear his case on Nov 21. He said the judicial inquiry was ongoing into his daughter’s complaint that former IG Sindh and ex-DPO Mirpurkhas detained her, snatched her passport, and threatened her of dire consequences.— Correspondent
