PCB chairman gets 3-year extension

KARACHI, Oct 23: The Chairman, Pakistan Cricket Board, Dr Nasim Ashraf on Tuesday received a major boost when he was given an official three-year extension as the head of the PCB by board’s patron President General Pervez Musharraf.

According to the announcement, the Dr Ashraf will head a 15-member governing board of the PCB in his next term which comprises six technocrats, two Test cricketers and six elected departmental/regional representatives.

The six technocrats named for the governing board of the PCB include Ali Raza, Munir Hafeez, Moin Afzal, Aslam Sanjrani, Ijaz Yousuf, Farooq Rehmatullah while former Test players Intikhab Alam, Ijaz Butt are also named on the board.

The other six representatives will be elected in due course of time and will comprise five from regions and one from department.
