HYDERABAD, Oct 23: A newly married couple, Ghulam Mujtaba Rahu, son of Ali Mohammad Rahu resident of village Aliabad, taluka Doulatpur district Nawabshah and his wife Ms Salma daughter of Irshad Ahmed Arain resident of village Ghulam Mohammad Punjabi taluka Doulatpur district Nawabshah, presently living in Sehwan, have appealed to the authorities to provide them protection as their lives were in danger.

Speaking at a news conference at the press club here on Tuesday, Ms Salma said that his father wanted to marry her to an old man for money to which she did not agree.

She said she had an understanding with her husband and she left her house and married Ghulam Mujtaba of her own free will in Sehwan on Oct 20, 2007. She said she had also filed an affidavit to this effect in the court of civil judge and judicial magistrate Sehwan.

The couple said as they had married without the consent of their families therefore, their lives were in danger.

They appealed for protection and added that if any cases were filed against them, it should be treated as false.

PROTECTION SOUGHT: Khurram Rawal Pahore, son of central leader of ladies wing of the PML Ms Manzar Rawal Pahore, has sought protection from Imtiaz Shaikh, Asadullah Shaikh and Azizullah Shaikh, who according to him were responsible for firing on his office and the houses of his employees.

He said that he gave 147 acres of land to the Shaikhs on lease which they refused to return after expiry of lease.
