MMA opposes ban on rallies

Published October 22, 2007

LAHORE, Oct 21: Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) Deputy Secretary-General Liaquat Baloch has opposed the proposal of imposing a ban on peaceful rallies saying this amounts to denying political parties their fundamental right.

In a press statement released here on Sunday, Mr Baloch also demanded that the government should make public the names of three persons who were identified by PPP chairperson Benazir Bhutto in her news conference as responsible for the terrorist attack on party’s peaceful procession on Oct 18. —Correspondent
