NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, Oct 21: “My son was a staunch supporter of PPP leader Benazir Bhutto and sacrificed his life for peace and democracy. I and other members of my family are ready to do the same.”

These were the sentiments of Imam Bux Rajpar, father of 26-year-old Nisar Rajpar, who was one of the victims of the twin blasts that shook the convoy of the opposition leader in Karachi on October 18 when she returned home ending her eight-year exile.

Imam Bux Rajpar was talking to journalists after burial of his son in their family graveyard in Drakhi village near Padidan on Sunday.

The body of Hamzo Makhoro, another victim of the October 18 carnage, was brought from Karachi to a village adjacent to Dargah Hussain Shah in Chuhar Jamali near Thatta late on Saturday night.

His Namaz-i-Janaza was held on Sunday which was attended by a large number of people and local Pakistan People’s Party leaders, including Dr Abdul Wahid Soomro, Pir Rehmani, Abdul Sattar Lohar, and Pakistan Muslim League leader Ghulam Qadir Malkani.

PPP activist Ali Raza Channa, 25, another victim, was buried in Khinyari village, Faiz Gunj taluka, Khairpur district, on Sunday.

Ali Raza Channa’s funeral prayers were held in Zafarabad and attended by a large number of PPP workers, relatives and villagers.
