KHAR, Oct 20: Two pro-government tribal elders were killed in separate incidents in Bajaur Agency on Saturday.

Officials said that armed militants opened fire on a member of the grand jirga, Maulana Gul Sher Khan, near the Bilot village when he was going to his village after attending a tribal jirga in Khar.

Gul Sher, who was also member of the Agency Council, died on the spot.

Another tribal elder and member of the jirga Malik Akhunzada was shot dead in the Inayet Kali area, near Khar. He also attended a jirga.

Sources said both the tribal elders were supporting government policies and were active members of the grand jirga.
