Lawyers boycott courts

GUJRANWALA, Oct 20: The district bar association on Saturday observed a complete strike to protest against the Karachi carnage.

Wearing black armbands, lawyers gathered in the barroom where a meeting was held under the chairmanship of bar president Ilyas Rehan while secretary-general Amir Munir Bagari tabled a resolution condemning the Karachi incident.

The participants passed a unanimous resolution demanding that the culprits and mastermind behind the carnage should be traced and exposed to the nation.

TOBA TEK SINGH: Lawyers boycotted court proceedings on Saturday to mourn victims of the Karachi blasts.

The district bar association also held a meeting where bar president Chaudhry Javed Aslam Kahloon, secretary-general Mian Naveed Mansoor and other lawyers held the government responsible for the tragic incident.
