NAWABSHAH, Oct 17: One person was killed and 11 others received injuries in three different accidents in the district on Wednesday.
Ajab Mallah died when a speedy van crushed him while he was crossing the road near Daur. Police impounded the van while driver managed to escape.
In another accident, nine passengers namely Rawal, Sham, Bilal, Adil, Iqbal, Hemraj, Hadi Bux and others were injured when a bus turned turtle due to over speed near Gharib Nawaz petrol pump at Daur road. All of them were taken to a nearby hospital fore treatment.
In the third incident, Punhal Abro and Arif Dahiri were injured when a pick-up hit their motorcycle at Daur road.
CLASH: Seven people were injured in a clash between two rival groups over a petty dispute in Daur on Wednesday. They included Shahid, Asif, Rafiq and Javed from Rajput community and Mohammed Ali, Qasim and Mujeeb of Shah community.
Clubs and iron rods were freely used during the clash.
All the injured were brought to Nawabshah Medical College Hospital. No FIR was lodged till filing of this report.
BIKES SNATCHED: A motorcycle was snatched while another was stolen from Nawabshah on Wednesday. Some armed men snatched a motorcycle from Khurshid Ahmed, a PML-Q activist near Daur Phatak and escaped. In another incident, motorcycle of Allah Warayo Bhatti, a bailiff of the session court was stolen from Dhamrah road.
PRE-ENTRY TEST: The Quaid-i-Awam University of Engineering, Science and Technology Nawabshah, has announced the schedule of pre-admission tests for 2008-batch here on Wednesday.
According to a press release issued by chairman admission committee, the candidates who had applied for admission have been directed to appear in the test on November 4 at university campus.
The candidates have been further directed to collect their admit cards from the university between October 18-20 during office hours after which the slips would be dispatched to themthrough registered post on the addressed provided by them.
