CHAKWAL, Oct 17: The Lahore High Court (LHC) Rawalpindi Bench on Wednesday adjourned till November 8 the hearing of petitions seeking bail for three doctors of DHQ hospital, Chakwal, who are facing charges of professional negligence leading to the death of three children.

Former medical superintendent Dr Tauqeer Minhas, his deputy Dr Sadat Ali Khan and child specialist Dr Aamar were earlier granted interim bail by the court.

Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry had taken suo motu notice of the deaths, and the Chakwal City police registered separate cases against the three accused.

Dr Aamar was arrested and he remained in jail for more than three months. He was later granted interim bail. The other two doctors — Tauqeer Minhas and Sadat Ali Khan — escaped from the court of the additional district and sessions judge Chakwal, who dismissed their bail petitions.
