LARKANA, Oct 17: Activists of the People’s Party from Larkana and Qambar Shahdadkot districts left for Karachi on Wednesday in two big caravans to receive Ms Benazir Bhutto at Karachi airport.

A procession of more than 100 buses, wagons, cars set out for Karachi from Larkana.

The party activists, raising slogans, waving tri-colour party flags were dancing at the tunes of songs praising Z.B. Bhutto and Ms Benazir Bhutto. The district president PPP Larkana MPA Ayaz Soomro, MPA Haji Munwar Ali Abbasi, MNA Anwar Bhutto and others were leading the caravan.

The procession took route from the airport road and would be joined by another procession coming from Shahdadkot, led by MNA Ramesh Lal, at ‘Dhamraho wah’ near Nasirabad.

Both processions were welcomed at different places where local party workers had set up camps.

The district information secretary PPP Larkana Asghar Shaikh claimed that more than 50 thousand workers would reach Karachi airport from both districts to welcome Ms Bhutto.

The caravans from both districts were delayed due to the late arrival of the booked vehicles.

NAWABSHAH: Convoy of Pakistan People’s Party left Nawabshah for Karachi to welcome party’s chairperson Ms Benazir Bhutto.

Acting district president Ghulam Qadir Chandio claimed that around 25,000 workers and supporters in buses, vans, pick-ups and cars left for Karachi.

The convoy was led by PPP MPA Ghulam Qadir Chandio along with MNA Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah, MPAs Jam Tamachi Unnar, Chaudhry Tariq Masood Arain, Ahmed Ali Jalbani and Syed Ali Ahmed Shah.

JACOBABAD: A caravan of the PPP workers left for Karachi from here on Wednesday to welcome Ms Bhutto.

Hundreds of PPP activists have set up camps near DCO chowk.

The caravan was led by district president Mohammad Aslam Abro, general secretary Abdul Sattar Brohi.

MIRPURKHAS: About 20 caravans of PPP workers, comprising 3,000 buses, coaches, cars, trucks and other vehicles, have left for Karachi from defunct Mirpurkhas division here on Wednesday evening to welcome Ms Benazir Bhutto.

A big caravan led by PPP Syed Ali Mardan Shah and Hari Ram Kishori Lal left Mirwah Gorchani. Another caravan led by PPP MNA Pir Aftab Hussain Shah Jilani left Mirpurkhas for Karachi.

From district Umerkot, different caravans from Umerkot town, Kunri, Pithoro led by district president Ali Mardan Shah, Nawab Yousuf Talpur and Ali Murad Rajar left for Karachi.

Small and big caravans left the district Sanghar from Khipro, Sanghar, Sinjhoro, Shahdadpur and Tando Adam.
