KARACHI, Oct 17: Administrative Judge of the Anti-terrorism Court (ATC), Karachi, Justice Amir Hani Muslim on Wednesday extended the police remand till Oct 20 of two persons accused of being involved in three different kidnapping and murder cases, including that of a former protocol officer, Liaquat Hussain. The victim served as protocol officer of Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz when the latter held the office of finance minister.

The accused, Syed Kashif alias Sohail and Mohammad Ahmed alias Umer Ahmed, are stated to be activists of a banned outfit. They are charged with involvement in the kidnapping and murder cases along with absconding accused, Asif, Rizwan and two other suspects.

The accused in custody were arrested on Oct 7 in Korangi.

Liaquat Hussain was found dead in Gulshan-i-Maymar and police said he was kidnapped by the accused before being killed. The victim was an employee of the National Bank and posted at its head office.—PPI
