KARACHI, Oct 17: Two more patients of viral infection died in Deh Allah Bano, falling in Gabopat union council of Keamari Town, raising the death toll in the area to seven.

A statement issued by the Pakistan Fisherfolk Forum (PFF) here on Wednesday said that as many as 12 people belonging to the fishermen community were affected by the disease. Two of them were admitted to the ICU of the Civil Hospital, it added.

The PFF observed that the area had been in the grip of viral diseases for 20 days but the Sindh health department had taken no steps yet to contain it.

It identified the patients who died recently from the diseases as Kulsoom wife of Ismail, a resident of Haji Noor Mohammad village and Malookan wife of Sadiq. The two patients in a critical condition at the CHK were Lal Mohammad and Karim Bux, it said.—PPI
