KARACHI, Oct 17: Four ships carrying containers, carbon oil and chemicals were accommodated berths during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, five more ships with containers, chemicals and edible oil also arrived at the outer anchorage.

Berth occupancy was maintained at 90 per cent as nine ships, Lugano, Nedlloyd Oceania, Skipper Ali, Torm Marlene, Novios Hlos, Al-Rafal, Keefan, Liquid Success and Maha Rose, were busy in loading and unloading containers, cement, seeds, coal, carbon oil, diesel oil, chemicals and iron ore.

A cargo volume of 93,563 tons comprising 78,109 tons of import and 15,453 tons of export tonnage was handled.
