KARACHI, Oct 16: Two persons who had sustained serious injuries in a road accident on Sunday died at the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre on Sunday, hospital and police sources said.

Earlier, relatives of the victims manhandled the casualty department staff and took away Dr Chuni Lal when he advised them to shift the patients in precarious condition to the Civil Hospital. They also ransacked the MLO office.

Giving details, SP Saddar Tahir Naveed said two persons were seriously injured in an accident involving a truck. The victims were brought to the JPMC and one of them, Aqeel, had already succumbed to his injuries on his way to the hospital. Doctors advised relatives of the other victim to shift him to the Civil Hospital. However, his relatives got provoked and took Chuni Lal along with them to the CHK.

The injured, however, died in the next few hours.—APP
