Bannu Amir of Tablighee Jamaat killed

BANNU, Oct 12: The local Amir of Tablighee Jamaat was killed and his two associa-

tes were injured when their car came under fire from a military convoy on the Miramshah road on Thursday night.

Sources said Haji Mir Saeed Shah was going in the car with his friend Haji Mohammad Rahim and driver Jalilur Rehman to Bannu after Ishah prayers.

When the car neared the military convoy, it was attacked by soldiers.

Haji Mir Saeed died on the spot. The injured were taken to the hospital.

A large number of people attended his funeral in the Tablighee Markaz.

The sources said that Mir Saeed’s relatives had registered an FIR, but officials did not confirm it.

ROCKET ATTACK: A series of blasts rocked Mamashkhel village when militants fired eight rockets on Thursday night.

According to sources, the rockets fired at around 10:15pm landed in the field near the village.

No loss of life or damage to property was reported.
