VEHARI, Oct 12: Several government employees of the district could not get their salary for the month of September owing to a fault developed in the newly-launched automated system of the District Accounts Office.

Despite experts’ team had arrived here from Lahore a couple of days ago, the fault still persists and could not be rectified by Friday evening.

The disbursement system of the accounts office was automated recently, but it developed a fault and salaries could not be distributed to all government servants ahead of Eidul Fitr. However, a large number of employees were later distributed salaries according to the old manual system.

District Accounts Officer Malik Ahmad Bakhsh admitted that some employees could get their salaries due to a fault in the execution of the new computerised system. A team of experts from the Accountant General’s Office had reached here to rectify the fault, he added. Mr Bakhsh directed all DDOs to check their payrolls, and if they found it faulty, they should collect a performa from his office to remove such a fault.
