‘Jamil Bugti’s name on ECL’

QUETTA, Oct 9: Deputy Attorney-General Chaudhry Mumtaz Yousaf has informed the Balochistan High Court that the name of Jamil Akbar Bugti, son of the late Nawab Akbar Bugti, has been placed on the Exit Control List (ECL) after receiving intelligence report about his involvement in anti-state activities.

The deputy attorney-general informed the court that the Interior Ministry had no knowledge about freezing of his bank accounts.

The bench comprising Chief Justice Amanullah Khan Yasinzai and Justice Akhtar Zaman Malghani was hearing a constitutional petition filed by Mr Jamil Bugti.

The petition said that Mr Bugti was suffering from ailments of neck, backbone and nervous system and doctors had advised him to seek treatment in the United States.

The bench adjourned the hearing till Oct 11.—APP
