KESC in semis

KARACHI, Oct 5: Opener Asad Shafiq hit an unbeaten 68 to power the KESC into the semi-finals of the 22nd Karachi Gymkhana Tapal Trophy Ramazan Cricket Festival with an eight-wicket win over Qasmi CC at the KG Ground on Friday.

Asad’s enterprising knock contained six fours and a brace of sixes.

Daniyal Ahsan contributed 34 with three boundaries and Akbar Rehman hit 24 not as the KESC romped home for the loss of just two wickets in 17 overs.

Earlier, Qasmi CC were restricted to 140-6 in their 20 overs. Wasim Naeem blasted four fours and as many sixes in his 38-ball knock of 66.
