LAKKI MARWAT, Oct 5: Speakers at a seminar here on Friday called upon the teachers to dedicate themselves to their duty and focus on character building of students as it was the only way to regain respect in society.The seminar was organised by the National Commission for Human Development at the Government Centennial Model High School Lakki to mark the Salam Teacher Day.
They said that under the universal education programme the NCHD had provided 12,609 feeder teachers to government schools so as to overcome shortage of the teaching staff.
They said that teachers should exercise their energies on imparting quality education to the future generation.
They said about 5,967 teachers had been recruited for feeder schools and 5,501 branch schools had been set up in the country where the community had no access to government schools.
They said that as many as 5,054,701 children had been enrolled in schools since the inception of NCHD in August 2002.
They said about 712,450 learners were being equipped with basic education in 30,111 functional adult literacy centres and some 928,563 had graduated from 41,022 such centres since the launch of programme in 114 districts of the country.
KARAK: The NCHD held a ceremony here on Friday to observe the Salam Teacher Day.
Speaking on the occasion, officials urged the teachers to devote themselves to their primary job of imparting education.
They called upon the teachers to follow in the footprints of Prophet (pbuh) and educate the nation with the same spirit.
They appreciated the role of teachers in enhancing the literacy ratio in the district.
They said that the NCHD was supporting the education department in capacity building of teachers.
