45 policemen booked

KHAIRPUR, Oct 4: Forty-five policemen including a former SHO Ahmedpur were booked on Wednesday on the directives of third additional sessions judge Khairpur for arresting the PPP worker Pakhar Jagirani and his three relatives.

The complainant Pakhar Jagirani lodged an FIR under Section 395, 344, 452, 148, 149 PPC with Ahmedpur Police against an ex-SHO Hidayatullah Abbasi of Ahmedpur Police Station and another 44 policemen stating that the said SHO along with police contingent raided his house in village Chattan Shah on August 13, arrested complainant and his relatives Irshad Ali, Yasin and Asghar Ali, subjected them to torture and looted some household valuables.

The complainant alleged in the FIR that after taking bribe and subjecting Pakhar Jagirani to physical torture, police released him while three others were still missing.

Relatives of Pakhar Jagirani and villagers led by Mir Khan, Nadeem, Nobat Jagrani and others staged demonstration in Khairpur on Thursday, against Investigation Officer. They said the Investigation Officer was pressurising them to withdraw the case and intended to implicate them in fake cases.

They demanded to conduct inquiry of Pakhar Jagirani torture case through the Crime Branch.
